Our Team

Dr. Moeller-Bertram is our Medical Director at VitaMed Research. Prior to going into private practice, Dr. Moeller-Bertram held appointments as the Associate Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology and Psychiatry at University of California, San Diego. For several years he served as the director of Clinical Pain Research at UCSD and was co-chief of the Neuroscience Research Unit at the “Center of Excellence” at the VA in San Diego.  He is double-board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management.

Dr. Jan Schilling received his medical degree from the University of Hamburg, Germany in 2009. During this time he wrote his doctoral thesis on the effects of immunomodulatory therapy in patients with multiple sclerosis. He then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and later as a Project Scientist in the Cardiac and Neuro Protection Laboratories in the Department of Anesthesia at the University of California San Diego before joining Vitamed Research as a full time staff member. During his research career he was working on clinical and preclinical studies focusing on the plasma membrane protein Caveolin in cardiac and neuronal degeneration and aging, as well as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Pain.
